Our History

Mazzone Law Firm

The Mazzone Law Firm was founded by Brian Phillips and Peter Mazzone. It began as a very small firm focusing on criminal defense. Phillips and Mazzone represented people in State and Federal Courts that were accused of misdemeanor charges, felony charges as well as Federal charges. Together they successfully defended the last woman in the State of Washington to be charged with a capital offense thereby sparing her life.

Following the retirement of Brian Phillips in 2005, the law firm evolved to eventually become the law firm that it is today. The firm now employs four full-time lawyers as well as three full-time staff, including two full-time paralegals and a legal secretary. Over the past twenty-five years our lawyers have earned a reputation among judges, colleagues, and the public for excellence, tenacity, and unrivaled results. We have litigated some of the most complex and notorious cases in the area. As a result, our lawyers have been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers, Super Lawyers, Seattle Magazine and Avvo for providing great advocacy for our clients.

Because of our collective 60+ years of experience we know that the legal system can be overwhelming for the average person. Our client centered approach is focused on listening and ensuring that each and every client understands what is happening at every step of their representation. More importantly, we also focus on making sure that you understand the importance of every step of the process throughout your representation. You can be assured that we will work hard for you and with you to identify your goals, understand your options, and energetically pursue the course of action that is best for your needs.
